Black Gold participates in Calgary Corporate Challenge
To stand out through marketing and remain socially responsible, organizations are turning to cause-related marketing; but, what does this mean? Cause-related marketing, or cause marketing, as explained by the Government of Canada, is a form of fundraising that involves a partnership between a registered charity and a for-profit organization. This partnership provides benefits to both parties as the for-profit organization looks to be socially responsible in its commitment to its community, while the charity receives some of the organization’s revenue.
Cause-related marketing can be a highly beneficial tactic and is quickly becoming an effective method of sharing a message. Without realizing, we are exposed to cause marketing every day; think of the smile cookie you bought with your Tim Horton’s coffee, or the Dove soap commercial you watched last night encouraging female confidence and body acceptance. This form of marketing often tugs on the heartstrings of the consumer, just as those causes do, gathering support for all parties involved. With it being very situational, cause-related marketing does not always look the same and can sometimes appear more uniquely than seen in the past.
Calgary Corporate Challenge
Calgary Corporate Challenge (CCC) is a non-profit corporate event company that coordinates activities for Calgary’s corporate community to get involved in. CCC works to provide safe, organized events for corporate teams to challenge themselves in. It offers a fun and exciting environment that is different than hours in the boardroom and encourages participation in a unique way. CCC has four main goals of which it puts to action in any event or coordination it partakes in. Amongst these four goals, is the organization’s commitment to social responsibility through support of local charities within the Calgary community.
Human bonspiel supports KidSport
Every year CCC hosts a human bonspiel event at Olympic Plaza in Calgary. Companies sign up in teams of four to compete in the ultimate bonspieling tournament that carries over a week in February. What exactly is a human bonspiel? It’s exactly what it sounds like – curling, but with people instead of rocks. Teams throw themselves down the ice on circular tubes while competing against other companies; those who win the round carry on to the next. As bizarre as it may seem, it has been a successful event every year and the money raised through registration fees supports KidSport Calgary – a charity that helps underprivileged children through organized sports to give every child a chance to play.
Sometimes the most unique, out-of-the-box thinking can prove to be immensely beneficial. Through its distinctive and memorable events, CCC has successfully supported KidSport Calgary, among other charities, for numerous years now. CCC continues to host a variety of events through its partnerships in the Calgary community and provides a fun environment that businesses look forward to supporting every year.
