Black Gold is pleased to announce that it has recently added a Business Development Coordinator to reach its organizational goals and objectives.
With the recent addition to Black Gold, we would like to welcome Bob Wyonzek to the team. Bob will be working primarily from the Calgary office to expand Black Gold’s reach.

Q & A with Bob:
What do you do at Black Gold?
I am the Business Development Coordinator. In its 23 years, Black Gold has never had a BD position, and has grown organically through word of mouth. I am looking forward to working with existing clients to strengthen working relationships through open communication and feedback. One of my main goals is to diversify our client base while growing Black Gold’s presence in the oil and gas sector.
How long have you been working in your field?
I have 20 years of experience in the oil and gas sector – more specifically as a Surface Land Agent. With those 20 years of industry experience, I have gathered a great deal of knowledge about the energy sector that I can apply to my new position. I am looking forward to using my long list of industry contacts to expand and reinforce Black Gold’s client base.
How did you get to where you are today?
In one word, change. As I mentioned, I had been a surface land agent for almost 20 years, so I had been searching for a change of pace. As a charismatic person, I have always had great communication skills and have established a healthy list of industry contacts. My position at Black Gold will challenge me to step out of my comfort zone and use these connections in new ways.
This change to a Business Development Coordinator has been an exciting transition. There have been learning curves and opportunities to expand my horizons. I am excited to be working closely with clients in a company with such deep roots; I look forward to expanding those roots and further its business opportunities.
What are your favourite things about what you do?
I am a people-person, which means I love interacting and making new connections. Being a BD with Black Gold allows me to form new relationships, set goals and challenge myself to reach them. I am excited to be on this new career path, and like I said – change is a good thing.
What is your favourite ‘90s jam?
Anything by the Tragically Hip.
What do you do when you aren’t working? Sports? Hobbies? Travel?
You can always find me outdoors. In the summer I am an avid mountain biker and a die hard fisherman. As for the winter, you can find me ice fishing, skiing and snowshoeing. I also love spending time with my wife in the mountains of Fernie.
