Unprecedented times
COVID-19 has put us all to the test. In recent months, we have been forced to find new and innovative ways of continuing the lives and daily routines we were living before the virus appeared. By no means are businesses excluded from this challenge.
Annually, Black Gold conducts over 100 training sessions ranging from Orientations to Full-Scale training for its clients, preparing them for situations they can only hope will never occur, but are very possible given the nature of their work. Emergency preparedness is proving to be more important now than ever as companies fight to navigate the COVID-19 environment with fewer resources and personnel on hand.
As social distancing becomes more critical in the battle against COVID-19, Black Gold has begun conducting its client training sessions using virtual meetings that allow members of both parties to participate in the exercise while ensuring the health and safety of everyone involved.
“We’re all stuck at home, what’s the worst that could happen?”
Although ‘business as usual’ is a foreign concept to everyone right now, the current state of the working environment does not entirely negate risk. The typical issues companies likely anticipated prior to COVID-19 may not be as relevant right now, but the potential for new issues has festered. Has your company considered what to do should an employee fall ill with COVID-19, or worse an outbreak occurs at one of your plants?
Visit our website or reach out to your Black Gold contact for more information on how our team can help yours prepare for the unknown.
A note from Burgess Creek
In mid-April, Black Gold Emergency Planners conducted a virtual training session for its client, Burgess Creek Exploration. Following the training session, COO Kory Galbraith expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the company’s willingness to adapt to these unprecedented times and still provide Burgess Creek with the services it needs.
“The ERP scenario where a field employee that had recently been operating on site becomes hospitalized for COVID-19, was prepared by Burgess Creek and Black Gold. The response drill required our full emergency response team to respond while working from home. Practicing ERP preparedness has never been more valuable than in today’s environment. Black Gold’s knowledge and implementation of virtual technology facilitated an effective platform to conduct the invaluable exercise.”
